Education - The facts?

Tony Blair has banged on about education for all and made a massive statement with these damning words 'education, education, education'. It is rather easily said and maybe understood by a few but doesn't this change from one individual to another and from society to society?

There are lots of issues involved defining the term education. Generally, Oposiciones is described as going to school, then college or university and thereafter getting a job. Obviously, passing of exams reflects how clever someone is. However, do exams reflect how intelligent a person is and have we as a society attached a label with it? It needs to be noted that some individuals are 'academically' bright. By this, After all they are enthused by learning theory at schools and look at hard for exams then pass getting pretty high grades. On the other hand, it should be brought to attention that academically intelligent people may lack intelligence in other fields. Perhaps you have thought of that? For instance, a person who gets high grades for exams might not have the social skills required for the 'real world'. So doesn't this suggest that the studies were pointless? Can we need to study very difficult and get high gpa's to get the title 'intelligent'? In the end, if we take a look at historical figures, did each goes to college? Did inventors start similar to this. These are the questions we must ask ourselves.



For me, like a student at postgraduate level, I have met lots of people from around the globe. From this experience I've learned that the way in which intelligence is measured on this contemporary society is one thing to be concerned about. From physicians to cleaning staff, We have met a range. Out of this, I will conclude the way intelligence is measured in society is worrying. People who have degrees are working in areas without any relevance with their subject area and individuals are continually being employed for reasons besides their academic qualifications. Therefore, are academic institutions preparing us for that big bad world? A response we can receive from considering what is happening around us. Personally, i feel that 'intelligence' is measured in the wrong way. In the end, academic qualifications are purely depending on gaining a title which sticks with wherever we go but the brain are continuously obtaining information, ideas, you name it..from people we meet and have interaction with. Furthermore, countries where there isn't any formal institution to instruct doesn't mean the folks that society are uneducated but perhaps more educated as they have to gain skills with no kind of guidance from 'so-called' professional bodies which, let's face it, aren't always probably the most brightest.
